Blended Approach to Leadership Development


The Need

Organizations have different requirements and approaches when it comes to developing leadership programs. Our Fortune 500 client needed a tailored Leadership Program as part of a Leadership and Management Development curriculum to support the integration of acquired businesses across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The Piñon Group Approach

Working closely with the internal OD and management groups, we used a System Mapping® framework to identify the context of the program (links to other initiatives, strategic intent and performance management), the content for the program (key themes and competencies), and the delivery process for the most effective blend of learning activities. Our unique blend of learning activities differentiates these programs from the standard approach.

We designed and delivered a flagship event for all newly appointed and retained managers. It included a high level of interaction with senior managers and experiential activities during the face-to-face component of the program. Specific work sessions helped to accelerate understanding of their culture – and what it takes to be a leader in this organization. Between each session we included a number of blended learning opportunities, webinars, virtual sessions and a work based project to apply the learning from each session into the business.
