About the President

Nic Smith

Professional Experience

Nic Smith has been President of the Pinon Group since 1992. His experience as an organizational effectiveness consultant focuses upon advising global businesses across a wide range of industry sectors. He has worked in over 30 countries for corporate clients and undertaken projects for many local nonprofit organizations. His role in organization design and effectiveness includes, developing and implementing business strategy, conducting organizational assessments, and building new operating and service delivery models. Having created a more efficient and effective organization design he then advises clients on how best to build their organizational capability to manage the change and integrate people, processes, and technology. This includes change management strategies, leadership development programs and cultural initiatives to transform organizations. 

Background

Originally from the UK, Nic began his consulting career in 1988 with Robert Purvis Consultants then joining Crane Davies Consultants, before starting the Pinon Group in the US in 1992. He has delivered keynote speeches on organization, leadership and change at conferences in Shanghai, London, and various US locations.

His most recent role was as Managing Director of the Organizational Design, Change and Transformation practice at CBRE, the largest global corporate real estate company. Here he worked with Fortune 100 clients across a range of industries to support their organization design and transformation initiatives. He previously spent 3 years at Los Alamos National Laboratory where he led the People & Organizational Development group and built the teams OD capability to support mission critical projects across the laboratory.

He has delivered keynote speeches on organization, leadership and change at 
conferences in Shanghai, London, and various US locations.
